City Creek

We were able to go to Utah for a couple weeks for my little sister's wedding. I love going to visit family but we are so busy while we are there trying to fit everything in. One thing I really wanted to go see while I was there was the new City Creek mall. I had heard so much about it and saw tons of picture on facebook I had to go. We met up with my good friend Meagan and her cute little girl Mahala to go check out the mall. I felt bad because Jackson wasn't in to shopping and only wanted to play in the water so we only got to see a couple of stores. We didn't even get to talk much because my little turd was running everywhere and if he wasn't running around he was screaming because it trapped him in his stroller. When we finally got to the water Mahala wanted to stay dry while Jackson was soaking wet in the first five seconds! Freezing Jackson!

On our way out to Utah Al Jefferson (mom he plays for the Utah Jazz) was on our plane. As I was waiting to get our bags he came to get his as well. We talked a little while we were waiting to for our bags to come.I told him my husband is a big Jazz fan and asked if I could get a picture with him. Jackson was so scared of him but he was really a nice guy!
The other day it started raining out of now where. I loved playing in the rain on warm summer days when I was younger.. Wait, I did it when I was in college with my room mates! So, maybe I was more excited when this storm came and we were able to go outside and play in the rain. Jackson loves jumping in puddles and was happy I was actually letting him do it this time.

For memorial day they were having firework at the Redbirds baseball game so we decided it would be fun to go as a family. I thought we were going to die of heat but it turned out to be a really nice evening and Jackson loved to run around on the grass. By the time the 7th inning came I was ready to go home but the only reason I went was to see the fireworks so we had to stay. There should only be 7 innings in baseball.. 9 is way to long. Jackson thinking he's cool in his dads sun glasses For the national anthem they had someone from Sun Studio's come and rock out on his guitar. I like when people sing but this was a nice change and I thought it fit for Memphis. Also the BBQ festival was going on and they were having a air show going on that we could see part of. Honestly I was a little jealous that we weren't there. I bet it was so cool to see it over the Mississippi River. I think Jackson was thinking the same thing~ The redbird came over and Jackson ran over to him. We were so surprised. He is afraid of everyone but I guess not big, weird looking redbird! Jackson was so happy to give him a high five. Jackson trying his first cotton candy. He didn't like it. Family picture at the game. Jackson however did like to eat the whole peanut.. Shell and all! That ended soon when he started choking on the shell The reason I came!! Fireworks! It was a really good show too. Ross and Jackson watching the fireworks
Now that Ross has started his third year in school and is in the clinic three days a week he is gone a lot more. Some days he leaves at 6:50am and gets home between 6:30 and 7:30pm. To make the days go by faster BreeAnn and I decided that we need to plan longer outings then our ten walks a day. Our first was to the zoo... turns out that they have started doing free Tennessee residents day on Tuesdays. It was a joke. We didn't get to see any of the animals because there was so many people there. On the plus side it was a good people watching day. We have some crazies here. Sorry no pictures for that one. :) Our next trip was to go to Tunica and do the river walk. It was a much better experience! Jackson's little friend Madison was able to come with us as well. Jackson watching a crate barge going down the river. Madison and Jackson throwing rocks into the lake/pond. One of the walkways. While we were letting the kids throw rocks into the ponds we saw a snake swimming in the water. ya we left pretty soon. Benson binkie dropped off a walk way and we could of gotten it but neither BreeAnn or myself we brave enough to walk off the trail haha Jackson running on the trail. Have I told you that I love how green it is here. Jackson and Madison on the rocking chairs watching the boats go down the river.

I have so many things to post about but not in the mood to do any of them. One day! For the mean time here are some pictures of my cute bug that decided that he didn't need a nap today. Jackson was so proud of himself for putting on his own shoes Jackson loves the camera and when I take pictures he wants to help. This time he was in front of the camera as he pushed the button. I think its a cute picture My messy eater I bought chalk not really thinking that Jackson would like to play with it but it was only .99 cents so it was worth a try. Turns out he likes its. Jackson sits on the stairs and uses them like a table to draw on lol I enjoy it because they are in the shade most the time and its not as hot. Ok you never get away from the heat and humidity here but it helps a little :)
