Carving pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is one of my favorite things to do during the Halloween season. We had some friends over and we all went away carving our pumpkins. Jackson was excited to help carve the pumpkin but didn't want anything to do with cleaning it out. I cut his little pumpkin out and told him to get the stuff out and he stuck his hand in once and quickly pulled it out with the most disgusted look on his face. He wouldn't go near the pumpkins after that :) Ross' pumpkin had a scared face and when he showed it up Jackson he ran away haha I swear this boy is scared of everything!! It was a great night and I can't wait tell next year when I can carve pumpkins with all of my family.. Maybe Jackson with will get brave with his cousins being around. Ready to carve Cleaning out the pumpkin How he after his stuck his hand in the pumpkin Our finished product Jackson looking and the lights in the pumpkins

Ward Halloween Party

We had out Ward Halloween party this past weekend. Jackson dressed up as a pirate. He hated us putting makeup and his hat on him but loved that he was able to bring his sword with him. The party was really fun, they had a chili cook off, a monster mash dance, cake walk, games and tick or treating. Jackson was so excited to run around and dance with his friends that he wouldn't eat anything the entire night. How he looked most the night We were able to sneak a good one of him with his hat on But it quickly turned to this. Dancing with his friends Jackson and his love of balloons followed this girl around some of the night haha Dancing with mom and Maddi. Madison was so cute. She was standing by her mom watching all the kids dance so I went over and told her it was safe to leave her mom and dance just playing with her and then left. A few minutes later she was standing by my and Jackson ready to dance! Doing the cake walk Trick or treating. He learned quick how to say trick or treat to get his candy. Just running around having fun.

Cedar Hill Farm

Going to Cedar Hill Farms is one of the outings I have been looking forward to for this halloween season. Jackson had so much fun being outside and doing all the fun activities. On our way down to the farm we saw that there was a car show going on in one of the towns we went through and Ross had to make a quick stop and look at the cars with his boy. Jackson liked looking at the different cars but was mad that Ross wouldn't let him touch any of them! Here are a few pictures of the boys looking at the cars. Riding the pony! He could have rode the pony all day They had this chicken puppet show that Jackson loved. Even after everyone left he sat there waiting for another song to start. Feeding the animals Waiting for the pig races to start! Yep we live somewhere where they have pig races. Riding on the train. He had to point out everything that was coming so Ross and I could see it. Playing in the hay fort with dad. Jackson gets so excited about pumpkins this year and was in heaven picking one out. He started with this one haha Then this one... had trouble picking it up So finally settled on this little guy.

Painting Pumpkins

I'm so excited that the holidays are here and we get to do fun craft and outings. When Ross has long days in the clinic I try and do a craft with Jackson to split up the day for us. We painted pumpkins and tried to get Jackson to learn more of his colors one day. I loved watching how into painting his pumpkin he got.

Conference

I always love watching General Conference. This year Jackson was only interested in the prayers and the songs. It will be nice when we are back in utah where we can turn on the tv and watch it instead of the computer. I was shock like everyone else to hear the age change of missionaries! I think its great and I'm excited to see the boost in missionaries leaving. Ross had to do something for school during the first part of the morning session on Saturday when they announced the age change. I wish he was here so I could have seen his face but when I called him I could tell he wished he could have been home also. Jackson loved listening to the songs and did pretty well with the prayers but when they went to long he would decide that they were over and just say "amen" and start doing something. There was a prayer that he said amen three or four times lol

Shout out to my Rossle

Last week SCO had their convocation ceremony where Ross was given an award for Clinical Excellence. To be honest we both were a little surprised when Ross read the email saying that he was getting an award. haha When we found out it was for clinical excellence Ross was still surprise but it made sense to me. Ross does really well in school and gets good grades but he loves to be in the clinic working with people. Ross will be a great doctor! We are so proud of him for getting this award and doing so well in school. Here is the best picture I could get and the ceremony. Jackson did pretty well during the award part and like to clap with everyone for the first 20 people but then lost interest and played with the Ipad until Ross received his award. After that Jackson was sitting on the bench and wanted to be on the floor so we soon left after that and went and played in the fitness center at the school. Notice Jacksons sweet shirt! His aunt Heidi brought it back from Thailand for him. That same weekend was homecoming for the school. They feed you great BBQ and have tons of different activities for you to do. I think Jackson could have played all night there. Here are a couple picture of Jackson with his balloon fishing pole and fish. (It only took a half hour of standing in line to get it :)

Happy 2nd Birthday

I can't believe that my little guy is two years old. These past years have gone by so fast. Jackson brings so much joy into your our family. I believe I can speak for both Ross and I that we didn't know we could love someone so much. Jackson definitely has a little bit of both Ross and I in his personality. He gets all of his kind and loving qualities from me and he's tantrums from Ross haha Ok, ok he definitely has my attitude.. There are many times each day that we don't get along because he is way to much like me :) Lucky he picked up some of Ross and he can be the sweetest little boy. A few things about Jackson: - He loves to give hugs but kiss's are rare - Can count to ten by himself.. Well for some reason he doesn't like the number 7. He always skips it and when you are counting with him and you say 7 he we say "Nope" and continue on the 8 -He thinks sleeping in overrated. - He is becoming a little talker and starting to tell you his mind - He loves the movies "Wall-E" and "Cars" - He has a very good memory. If he see's you do it once you can expect him to start doing. He can remember parts in movies that he hasn't see in weeks or even months - He can be a little scaredy cat. When something comes on a movie that scared him he will run up and skip that part. - Isn't a great eater. Some of the things we can count on are all fruits, olives, string cheese, hotdogs, pizza, most soups, eggs and oatmill -He loves everything sports. -He knows the names of most the different sports balls and know how to use them -Loves to be outside doing anything - Can say his alphabet up to "I" and then "O,P,S and,Z" -He hates getting undressed -Knows how to work the Ipad better then me and is obsessed with it - Is a mommies boy - Is way to attached to Ross and I. He use to like nursery but now screams every time we drop him off - Is a horrible sharer. - Loves to turn on and off lights - Loves to brush his teeth - He's still a cuddlier at night and in the morning - Loves to read books - Not a colorer.. We get blank papers every week coming home from nursery - Loves to dance and be swung around - He will fold his arms during the prayer but wont close his eyes and if the prayer goes to long for him he will say "Amen" and try and leave. (during conference he said amen three times before it was actually over lol) - He knows all of his basic body parts. - Famous to say "Nope, nope" when he doesn't want something and when he does we will say "um.. Yeah" -He is always making us laugh with the things he says and does Ok those are a few things about our little man. His birthday was pretty low key. His birthday day was a busy day but full of scouts activities, School party and the RS conference. We celebrated his birthday and opened gifts that morning and then the next day we have some friends over for cake. Jackson came out of his room in the morning and was so excited about the birthday sign that he ran right up to it. He also loved opening his gifts. He was so funny while opening them. The first couple were toys and he loved them but when he came to a box that just had clothes in it he would hurry and shut it saying "nope, nope" while pushing it away haha it happened every time he got clothes. I guess he only wanted toys :) Happy Birthday buddy. We are so grateful you chose to be in our family!
Loving his toys Cheesing it up while eating the beater from his cake mix Loving his marshmallow He chose to have a basketball cake.. I saw this one and did my best lol Its a b-ball going in the hoop. He was so cute when we all sang to him! He just sat there and smiled He tired to blow out his own candle but wasn't strong enough so we told him to do it again and he blew out of the side of his mouth haha We did it one more time and I helped him. When the candle went out he yell "I did it" and started clapping

Mid-South Fair

The Mid-South fair is happening this week and we decided that we better check it out while we are here. We've been to many fairs/festivals here but never to the mid-south fair that happens probably a mile away for our house! I don't know why we've never went and checked it out. Maybe because it was just to close :) I was thinking it was going to be like the Davis county fair where they have all different kinds of judging events and little shops and some rides.. I guess here they don't believe in judging or selling anything. They had a couple booth, a petting zoo and rides, that was it. Luckily the petting zoo was free and fun for Jackson. He loved being able to pick the hay up off the ground and feed it to the animals. I was surprised that he wasn't scared of any of them even after he was nibbled on a few times. After the petting zoo we walked around trying to find something other then rides and games but no luck. Well, Ross was suckered into playing a game. BreeAnn and Benson came with us and so the guy told Ross "if he played no matter the outcome that both Benson and Jackson would get a prize." So Ross played and the guy game him one stuffed animal and said "you play again I will give the other boy one too".. Ross was so mad the guy tricked him into playing thinking he would get a prize for both boys by playing once.haha Crazy fair guy 1- Ross 1/2.. I guess Ross did get a 50 cent stuffed ball for Jackson for only $5 :) Had to put this cute one of Benson up! This is my favorite picture Yep they had a kangaroo there! Ross playing the game haha
