Halloween

Halloween was a busy but fun holiday this year. Jackson loved all my moms decorations and singing the 12 days of halloween. We sang that song at least twice a day. Our first party was Ross' family party. Ross and I had not planned on dressing up. We got to his parents house and saw that his other siblings were dressed up and so we jumped on the bandwagon and found quick costumes at his parents. So we have Mario, the Grinch, Martha May, and Toad

Jackson doing the cake walk at the party!

We also carved pumpkins at my parents house with all my siblings. I think we rocked at carving this year. Jackson's was Mickey Mouse, Cole's was the original face (I had carved mine and Jackson's pumpkin and when we set all the pumpkins out I realized Cole didn't have one so I asked Ross to carve his and he chose a normal face! You are still loved Cole haha) Ross' pumpkin was the crow and the headstone and mine was the pirate! My mom's was the mouse looking thing on the chair... I know you were wondering

For the ward party we went as Phil and Ms. Kay from duck dynasty! This was Ross' choice. He was going to dress up for work and he couldn't be the Grinch so this was his next choice!

Again Jackson asking for me to take a picture of him!

Looking at his prize from the fishing game.

Going trunk in treating. Yes, my mom got lazy this year and brought the kids toy car and sat by it to hand out candy! My dad felt so dumb but he wasn't going to decorate their trunk so he went along with it.

Us with aunt Caroline and uncle Jason. Jackson was scared to Jason!

Halloween day was a busy one.. We went trick or treating at my sisters work with cousin, then straight to two care centers to trick or treat, then home to eat dinner and when dad got home from work we hit the neighborhood! Jackson was a little nervous of the care center but did well and raked in the candy

You can see this house from my parents front door and every night they would have the pumpkin lit up and the spider going. At first Jackson was scared of it but we told him it was a nice spider and went and visited it so he could see for himself. He wanted to go for a walk to see the spider every night after.

Jackson's and Cole's loot! They both filled up their pumpkins to the top.

Jackson's first eye exam

This is out of order but we haven't set up out external hard drive so I don't have any pictures to post about. When we took Jackson to get his first eye exam I forgot my camera and so we only have phone pictures to document with.
Jackson did really well at his appointment. He was Jackson and a two year old, meaning he was a little hyper! I don't think it helped that Ross was the one that gave him the exam. When the staff doctor came in to look at Jackson's eye's Jackson kept very still and did exactly what he asked  (Well, he may have kicked the doctor in his goods, but other then that everything went well :)  It was fun to see Ross being a doctor and have him look at one of our kids. Ross said that Jackson eyes looked great but he might need to get glasses later on in life. Its a good thing we know a great Optometrist!

Four months already

My sweet, fun, cute, needy and grumpy Mr. Cole is already four months. I swear time is going by so fast. Where did my little baby go? I want to start posting about how my kids are at different ages in their lives so I can come back and read them when I forget. I try and remember stuff I did or how Jackson was at Coles age and I find that I'm already forgetting things!! I know I should be writing in a journal but I'm not :)

Mr Cole,
We are so in love with you and you bring so much joy and fun into this family but you are sure a HARD baby! For four months now we have battled with treating silent reflux/gas/colic/food allergies/thrush. Honestly we don't know what the real problem is! We have been to the doctor many times trying to get help for you. The main problem is you HATE to eat. From birth you would spit up, toss and turn/gut wrenching through out the day. While we were in the hospital we had to keep your bed tilted at all times. When we left they told us to keep you elevated while you slept so it could help you when you spit up. They told me you would grow out it within a couple weeks but four months later you are still a restless sleeper. We have tired to put you laying in your crib but you soon wake up crying.. From what we are still deciding. Back to the main problem is you eating. Its crazy how you are. As soon as we get bottle to your month you will start crying, turning your head, and pushing the bottle away. You don't like to be held while you eat or loud noises while you eat either. When we finally get you distracted or asleep and you are eating you move around like its hurting you or you have a ton of bubbles. Once we take the bottle out of your mouth to burp you 99% of the time you will not start drinking again! To say I haven't gone crazy would be a lie :) I wish I could say that it was better for me when dad got home so he could take you but around 5-6pm you turn into a crying, needy grump and want Nothing to do with anyone but ME... Dad will try and take you and settle you down but you will just scream and scream. I'll come and hold you and within in 30 seconds you will calm down. Its frustrating for both dad and me!

Oh Mr. Cole its a good thing you are so cute! You really are so fun and other then feedings and after 5pm you are a happy baby. You are always smiling and jabbering about something! You will sit there and Jackson watch play and laugh. It's a great thing for both of you. Jackson has someone that will watch him play all the time and thinks he's cool and you are entertained. I can't wait for you to be able to craw/walk and be able to play together. Jackson always has me carry you and play around with him. He will look at me and and say: Mom, Cole come play? He sure loves you.

 Right now:

  • You weigh 16.01 pound and  are 25in long
  •  Are growing out of your clothes faster then I can get you into all of them
  •  You love your brother Jackson and will laugh at him
  • Are starting to Jabber and laugh a lot more
  • Not to sure about your bumbo
  • A needy and momma's boy
  • Love being outside
  • Still sleep in your swing
  • Will play for a little while under your play mat
  • Hate to eat
  • You love to hear your voice
  • You can almost roll over
  • Tummy time is not your favorite. You usually spit up when you are there too long but when you are there you go in circles pushing with your feet.
  • You are not sleeping through the night. You usually go around 4-5 hours sometimes a little long between feedings
  • You love to eat your hands
  • Thrush is another battle. We have you on medication and I boil your bottles at every washing but somehow it comes back.
Cole we are so grateful you are in our family! You make our family so much better and remind us how important the little things are

**Quick what we have tried to help you. We have tried, gripe water, Mylicon drops, Zantac max rx 1.3ml, rice cereal in your bottles (4tsp every bottle) and you were on similac sensitive. The doctor has just told us to try soy formula so we will see how that goes. Thrush you are on Fluconazole 40

Family Picture

I checked another thing off my list of "things to do while in MS". We went and had family pictures taken by the Mississippi river. Our friend BreeAnn came with us and took them. It was a little humid and towards the end I could feel that my face was getting pretty red but I'm happy with them. One day I will take a class on how to work my photoshop and be able to edit them. I'm going to play around with them and try to edit some but until then her are some raw photo's!

Members night at the zoo

We went to the members night at the zoo this past weekend. We alway try and go when they have it because all the rides are free. I think it so dumb you pay for a pass and then they want you to pay $2 to go on a short kid ride. Call me cheap but we only go on ride at the zoo when they are free! Throughout the night they will bring different animals out in the main area and the kids can touch them. When we showed up they had the red tail boa out. This thing was huge! A good 10+ feet but Jackson wasn't scared at all and loved being up close to it. We then headed over to the rides. Jackson loved them and could have stayed all night.

Planes were up first. This was Jackson's first time riding on a ride all by himself so I was a little worried but he did great!
Jackson and Soren ready to go

Flying in the air. Soren wasn't enjoying the ride as much and Jackson

Dad and Cole watching Jackson go on rides

The boats were a hit for both boys! I loved seeing them drive the boat around

And the who doesn't love the train!

I don't know what both of them were looking at but it must have been something good!

Sprinkler park

This past week we went to the splash park with some friends. When we showed up all the water was off. We found out that the power was out and they didn't know when it was going to turn on. I was super bummed and was trying to figure out how I was going to tell Jackson and not have him scream the whole 45 minutes back home! Lucky for us we waited about 20 minutes and it came back on!! It took Jackson a little bit to get use to it. He has a love/hate relationship with water. He loves it but hates it on his head. So, he had fun but there is a lot of water that gets on your head at a splash pad :) He would run around and duck under the water shooting out so it wouldn't get him wet lol

Waiting for the water to come on

This is the closest Jackson would get to having the water on his head.. One foot in!

Ducking under the water haha

4th of July

July is such a fun month. I love the bbq's, fireworks, parades, boating and being with family and friends! July in Utah is much better then July in Tennessippi though. Its so hot and humid here that there are no parades (they do their's in November/December) and they don't celebrate pioneer day... Weird I know :) So we have to take in all the fire works we can on the 4th. This year we went over to our friends the Christensen's and had a bbq and lit fireworks that evening.

I had to put this picture on. Ross made waffles and when I went to eat mine this is what I saw. He was in the shower so I hurried and took a picture of it. I thought it was a total fail with the food colors.. When he got out he asked if I saw his waffle. I told him I did and said nothing more. He then told me that it was kind of messed up but he was trying to make a FLAG haha I'm glad I took the picture because looking back I can see it was a flag and not just a mess up with the colors! He's such a good dad and husband.

The two trouble makers with matching shirts. This is the best picture I could get of the two

 Cute Cole just chilling

We tried to put a tat on Coles foot but it quickly rubbed off with all of his sweat.

Watching warms

Ross in heaven. Great food and fireworks

All the guys played home run derby while we waited for it to get dark. Jackson loves baseball and had to join in.

Waiting for fireworks. Note the frizzy hair. This happens every time I go outside. With high humidity my hair won't stay straight.

The boys playing home run derby

playing with poppers.

Jackson and the start of his cheesy smiles

Most our sparklers seemed like fire on a stick!

One of the few that worked
