Its set.. We're going to Tennessee!

Ross has been ACCEPTED to Southern College of Optometry!! The call came only two days after we had returned home from interviewing with SCO. Ross and I both knew if he could get a interview that we would be fine. If you've ever met Ross you know he can talk to a rock! Well, we are both excited and nervous at the same time! We won't be moving tell August so we still have time here. Ross will Graduate from BYU and start Optometry school a week later! Ross has always wanted to go to SCO so it was nice that they accepted us first and we could turn down all the other schools and save some money! We will be sad to leave our families and friends here but are ready for the adventure! We want to thank everyone who has helped us to get to this point! Always know that there will be a place open for you to come and stay in Tennessee/Mississippi!
Its a little dark! But soon to be our new home!

Optometry Interview in Memphis TN

After Ross had turned in is application for Optometry school we received a invitation for Ross to come and interview with SCO "Southern College of Optometry" in Memphis Tennessee. Ross was very excite to go, for this has been the school he has always wanted to go too. They gave us a week notice before we needed to be there. Yes, only a WEEK!! We are very grateful for Ross's parents for helping us with the our plane tickets and for Heidi helping us find a hotel! On Sept 24 we flew into Little Rock AR. and drove to Memphis TN. The drive wasn't bad, its about 1 1/2 hours. We both had never been there and were amazed by the many many tree's that lined the freeways and streets. We arrived into Memphis late that night, after getting lost only for a couple min! Turns out .3 of a mile on map quest is really like 5 or 6 miles. Driving to our hotel I was a little scared but I knew we were going to be staying at a Marriott and they are nice... Right? Well, checking in was the first of many problems for me that night! The girl was so nice checking us in but for the life of me I couldn't understand what she was saying! After leaving the front desk, Ross informed me that I had told her I worked for Marriott, I was there for business and I gave my phone number and said it was the number to Marriott! Oops! As we walked into our room I could smell old smoke.. I'm kinda a wimp and don't do well with smoke! I sat on the bed and almost started crying. I was in a scary place and had a room that smelled like smoke. Ross said it was ok and that we would go back down and ask if we could change rooms. I wanted to but told him he had to talk to her. She moved us and yes again that room smelled like smoke too. I know Marriott's are a non-smoking hotel but this one smelled! I accepted where I was and the trip went on. The next morning we went to the SCO and Ross did amazing on his interview! The school was very nice and all the people were so willing to help us in anything we needed! We even went to one of the students house and had lunch with them and some other students from SCO. They then showed us around the area so we could see places to live! The area was not like Memphis! Its nice and looked murder free ;) During our trip we also went to amazing BBQ places, Beale street and Graceland! All in all our trip was scary for me but very fun!

Here we go!

Its been a crazy couple of months for Ross and I. Ross was put as the Elders Quorum President in March, the call came as a surprise to both of us. We had been out of town the Sunday before and didn't know the old one had been released. As the stake President called us in and said "as you know Brother Wolferts has been released" Ross says "WHAT!" thinking.. oh shoot but sat there calmly as the call was given. Ross has also spent the last 6-7 months studying for the O.A.T. "Optometry Admission Test", getting his application ready for the Optometry school, going to BYU full time and working part time. Ross has been amazing in finding time to do every. In August Ross was able to take the O.A.T. It was a very stressful time in our house but I was sure ready to have my husband back! Ross did very very well on his test! We were both pleased with his score. Right after he was done taking the test, we headed up to Fish Lake for the bow hunt with his cousins! They say "its heaven on earth".... I'll let you decide :)
