I didn't even know what to name this post! Its like my tenth post about going to the zoo but every time we go there is something different that I love. Here are some fun pictures of our latest visit. They were feeding the polar bear as we showed up. Jackson likes just looking at the water but having a polar bear in it made it that much better lol
Every time Jackson is on Ross's shoulders he holds on to his ears! Don't mind both their grumpy faces.

Fun in the Ozarks

This past weekend our family and the Butterfields rented a house in the Ozark mountains. It was a perfect little vacation. The house was so cute and having it set right on a private lake didn't hurt much either. It was nice to get away after a hectic week of finals. I say that like I was the one taking them but listen, finals week takes a toll on the wives too. Yes, I'm sure the boys have it harder but being a single parents is hard :) Either way it was nice to get away and spend some time as a family and not worrying about anything. **Tons of Pictures** The view from the back of the house
Our first day there were so many big birds flying around the lake.
Jackson's pointing at the birds. We took a little boat ride over so he could see them closer. He loved it
For the fist little bit Jackson was scared to go over the cracks on the dock. (I know mom, he doesn't have his life jacket on.. Ross and I were right behind him with it.)
Family canoe ride.
The boys going out on a ride on the paddle boat.
I guess the whole time they were on the ride Jackson wanted to play in the water so when they got close BreeAnn was swimming and he jumped in with her. He was ok for a little bit but then got scared or didn't like the coldness of the water.
Jackson and I swimming. He was scared and held onto my life jacket for dear life. We got him out quick but he always wanted to get back in and hated it as soon as he was in. After the first day it was to cold to go swimming but Jackson loved to stick his hands and feet in while we were on the boat. Jackson could have spent the whole trip out by the lake and if it was warmer we would have.
They had a little telescope so the first night we went out and tried to look at the moon/stars but there wasn't much to see and the telescope wasn't the best.
So while Bret tried to get a good pictures of the moon on the telescope I had fun taking pictures of the moon lol
The view from the kitchen.
Another great thing this house had was fully screened in balconies. Jackson and I spent a lot of time out there playing
The boys fishing together.
This is my favorite picture of the trip. Jackson and Ross throwing rocks in the lake
Jackson spent all his time by the lake throwing rocks into it.
All the boys fishing our last day! Well I'm pretty sure the guys were trying to fish and Jackson was scaring them all away by throwing rocks into the lake haha

Swimming time

For the past month the weather has been in the 80's sometimes hitting the 90's but our apartment complex wont open their pool until the end of this month. I think it is so lame. Why wouldn't you open your pool when it is super warm outside? This isn't just a fluke year either. Mississippi is like this every year! Anyway off my rant about our cheap apartment and not opening up their pool. The other day my friend and I decided that if they weren't going to open the pool then we were going to buy one ourselves. So we went to the store and got what we thought was a killer deal on a 12" pool and a hose... We were so excited about our finds as we went home and started to set everything up. We learned quickly why our "pool and hose" were such great deals. Turns out we had bought a 12" pool cover not a pool and a garden hose is not just a name of a hose but its really for the garden and has little holes all over it to spray the plants haha I wish so badly that Ross wasn't out there to see our huge fail in buying the wrong things. Don't worry our luck didn't stop there. BreeAnn was nice and took back our pool.. Cover.. and got an actual pool. The hose would didn't reach all the way out to the pool so every time we filled up the pool we had to fill up buckets and then dump them in the pool! Its a good thing we only needed a couple inches for our kids to play in. For a few days everything was perfect and we would go swimming all the time. Then our apartment complex, that wont open up their pool, told us that we couldn't have our own pool either!! I can't say we didn't see that coming but we thought we could get past them for a few weeks. Our luck they were cleaning out and showing apartments right by where we were swimming and we got caught within days. LAME!! Jackson thinking he's so cool with his sunglasses and in the pool
Jackson and Benson
Jackson loved to help us fill up the pool. Such a cute boy

Plane watching

Jackson loves planes and is always looking out for them. He always points them out when we are outside, in the car, and even when he hears them inside the house. My favorite thing is every time he see's one he will stop what he is doing and first point it out saying "pain" and then waves and says "bye pain." Its pretty cute if you ask me. I decided that it would be fun to go by the airport and watch the planes come in and take off. It took a little while to find a good spot but we eventually found this awesome place right next to the airport. You can see we were right next to the landing strip. Jackson was a little nervous of the rubbling in our chest when the planes took off but loved watching them land. They would have four take off and then four would land. On the news it said that a plane lands or takes off every 90 seconds at the Memphis airport. Needless to say Jackson says bye to many planes each day!
"bye pain"

So excite a plane is coming in to land

On our walks

Jackson and I go on at least three walks a day. He loves being outside and it takes time out of the day :) Any mom in the same situation as I am or maybe any mom would agree its all about trying to fill your day up while trying to entertain your kid(s). Lucky for me there are many young moms that live in the same complex and husbands are in school together. Anyway back to the post! Jackson and I were on a walk to the mailbox and I looked in the pond and saw 12 turtles laying out on the side of the water. Usually there are a couple out there but never that many so after getting the mail we hurried home to get our camera to take pictures of them. The rest are pictures of some of the things we see on our daily walk!
You'll have to make the picture bigger but there are 12 turtles there
I loved this turtle with its legs stretch out laying on the rock
The ducks are well fed at our apartments
Jackson loves to sit on these benches and watch the water and ducks
This day there was only one ballin car out! These cars are all over the place here!

Cub scout trip

A couple of weeks ago I went on a trip to the archeology site in Arkansan. I wasn't really excited to go but it turned out to be pretty cool. Will I go there again? NO but it was fun to see once and our scout were actually well behaved! The site is on 17-acres and believed that a native american village lived there from A.D. 1000 to 1550.
This is what the sites look like when they are digging. It was going to rain so I didn't get a picture of where they were actually digging because it was covered with a tarp.
This was inside the a school they had restored. It's a huge bucket of peanut butter lol My phone is to show its size
The school.
These headstones were amazing. They are a rock caved out so they looked like trees. From afar we couldn't tell if they were real trees or not.
I really love the landscape here. Everything is so green. I loved this V shaped tree that was covered in vines.
Some clay heads that were pulled out of the ground there.
Some of my cub scouts:) They all are so funny

Some random pictures

I a few pictures that I wanted to put up so my family can see them but they are not exciting enough to have to write a post about each one. Here are some stuff that goes on around our house.
Ross and I got an Ipad a couple weeks ago and Jackson is obsessed with it. Its pretty bad. I have to hide it from him so he will play with his toys and not just the ipad. Whenever someone is on it he will come and sit right on you and try and play his games. When we put it away he has a good 5 minute tantrum.
Jackson isn't a big fan of the shower. We rarely take him in the shower with us. Well the only time is when I need to shower and Jackson wont sleep. Whenever he is in the shower all he wants to do is look over the rod and see himself in the mirror.
This is Jackson eating the watermelon he HAD to help me cute.
Jackson loves to do the dishes (play in the water while I do the dishes) When he wont leave me alone when I'm trying to load the dishwasher this is what happens.
We also go to the Zoo. We will be going a lot more now that the weather is great! Here is Jackson and his buddy Soren
