Atlanta #2

Day two of our time in Atlanta was a little more laid back. We didn't have set plans, we wanted to go to stone mountain but it had rained all night so we didn't know what would be open there. At breakfast we asked the guy at the front desk to see what he suggested but he was NO help. So we decided to go to stone mountain anyways. The only thing that was open was the tram ride up to the top of the mountain. The ride was really fun but up at the top of the mountain was really windy so we headed back down the next ride. Stone mountain would be super fun if you went in the summer when everything was open, they have a lazer show on the mountain each night that would be cool to see.

Jackson and dad on the train

They have a huge Confederate memorial carving on the side of the mountain. Its of President Jefferson Davis, Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. The surface of the carving is longer then a football field! It was really neat to see.

This was on the sky ride looking down on the carving.

At the top a ladybug flew on Jackson haha he was amazed with it

After Stone mountain we went to the Atlanta Braves stadium! This is in the middle of the parking lot. Its were the ball landed when Hank Arron hit his 715th homerun. I'm pretty sure there is something more to this story but I don't remember :) They have built a new stadium since then and thats why it is in the middle of the parking lot and not in the stadium.

When I was taking pictures of the stadium these two boys walked by and this one struck a pose and yelled "hey take a picture of me" so I did! lol I told him that he will be on my blog and so here is this random boy!

Turner Field

This was also on the street going to the stadium. I though it was pretty cool.

We also went to the Olympic park and it was LAME! It was nothing like Park Cities Olympic park. We had to pay $5 to park and there was nothing there. A few rings on the ground and a couple of kids playgrounds.. That was it. Good thing Jackson loves park and we were able to stay a little while and let him play.

This quote was on one of the statues in the park. I really like it.

On our way home we decided to become nas-trash and stopped by Talladega Nascar race track! We were the only ones on the tour haha surprisingly it was fun! Now I can say that I have driven on a racecare track.

Standing on victory lane.

This was interesting. I've seen the cars on tv go around track but I never knew how steep the angle was as they rounded the corner.

Jackson enjoying his own seat on the tour.
